The Artist's Journey a Sketchbook of Cornwall

For every solo show Amanda produces at least one sketchbook, they are a precious visual diary which she uses to capture special moments and days spent painting in the landscape.  In this Beautifully bound, paperback book, Amanda shares sketches, paintings and annotations during her creative journey, giving  you an insight into her colourful world.

Produced by Beside the Wave and published to coincide with the solo show 'Landscape Stories.'

 

This book boasts a selection of work from Amanda's sketchbooks and oil paintings that featured in the show. The exhibition showcased work from around Cornwall. Quiet evening sunsets, silent river stillness, beautiful light across the bay, images framed with the glories of Cornish hedgerows, overflowing with wild flowers.

JOURNEY OF THE RIVER FAL sketchbook 2014

A full colour 106 page hardback book of  Amanda's work. 

The book includes reproductions from a collection of  paintings that arose from sketchbook work for the solo show, ' Journey of the River Fal,' at Beside the Wave Gallery. The Journey of the River visits Trelissick, the Carrick Roads, Mylor, St Just, Falmouth, St Mawes, out into Falmouth Bay and the horizon.

A Picture of Cornwall By Ray Balkwill

Presenting the Reader with a glimpse into the Artist's Relationship with Cornwall,

this book, features Amanda's work.

'A Picture of Cornwall,' is collection of works from some of the most celebrated contemporary artists and encompasses  a wide variety of styles and media. Complimenting the paintings, the author provides an interesting commentary, with musings  and extracts from poets and writers associated with the cornwall.

ARTICLES

Artists & Illustrators magazine is a long established publication that provides inspiration and practical advice to artists of all abilities.

 

 

Published monthly, every issue contains step-by-step demonstrations, practical features, interviews with leading artists, and art material tests and reviews.

Amanda was approached for the cover article of the April 2008 issue and a six page spread that comprised of her works and inspiration.

Artist on Board with Coast Magazine 

Coast is the sister title to Country Living magazine and exclusively offers the ultimate guide to our wonderful coastline of the British Isles. In 2007 Amanda was featured in this magazine, she explains how her love of sailing and the time spent as a sailing instructor inspired her and worked as a catalyst for the direction her paintings were to take.
